There was a terrific Networking function at Fortunato’s Winebar in Woodinville yesterday. It was put on by Kreate Brand and Business Development Events and Hosted By Cyndi O’neil Dady and Curtis Dady Executive Distributors with Send Out Cards, Seattle. Kreate Branding and Imaging is the Brainchild of Bellevue/Kirkland Photographer extrordanaire Julian Michael whom I also had the pleasure of meeting.
I bring this up because so many people are investing a lot of time trying to build their business online using so called “Social Media Networking” and losing sight of the benefits of Actual Social Networking offline.
I met a number of fascinating entrepreneurs at the Kreate event, have communicated with many of them since and learned a few things about business resources available to me to better serve my clients. Richard Geasy of Practical Local Search had some great insights on securing and developing your online presence which he shares in his book ‘Get found Now’.
Last week Lisa Benedict hosted a luncheon social here at Creative Workspace in Lynnwood and I was really pleased at the turnout and the opportunity to meet and talk with so many of the community members. I picked up on a number of opportunities to support and be supported by the businesses right here at Creative Workspace.
Eric Shaw of ARC Media encouraged me to get up a little earlier and join him for breakfast at the South Snohomish County Chamber Breakfast last Friday where I ran into Cyndi O’Dady whom I hadn’t seen in a few years and was reintroduced to the benefits and simplicity of Send Out Cards as a fabulous medium for easily creating meaningful and memorable offline connections.
While my business is about helping people strategize and integrate Online Social Networks in to their overall marketing mix, more and more it seems to me that the whole point of Online Social Networking has to be facilitation of more of these offline interactions. Email and Facebook are convenient communication mediums, but they will never be as effective as offline communication in terms of growing and maturing solid business relationships.
Take a look at your daily & weekly schedule of business building and “marketing” activities. If it is heavily weighted with time on Facebook, Linked in or Twitter, consider that you might achieve better results adding some “Sociability” to your Social Network Marketing efforts. I’m happy to share my insights on finding the happy median and balance in applying Social Networking to your business building efforts. www.AllpointsNW.Com

Introducing Independent Paralegal, Amy Wishart and her company, Do it Yourself Documents of the Renton Highlands Creative Workspace professional offices. Do It Yourself Documents is a great online resource for commonly used legal documents that don’t necessarily require additional legal advice or expense to complete.
Although Amy is a believer in getting good legal advice when warranted, many forms and functions can be accomplished by individuals without the need to incur the additional expense of an attorney.
Typically, even when the services of an attorney are used, paralegals prepare forms and properly file documents while stopping short of offering legal advice. This makes any legal issue where the parties are in agreement or the functional legal process is fairly straightforward, a good candidate for Do Yourself Documents and the services of an Independent Paralegal.
Amy, who hails from Boston via California, has 30 years of Paralegal experience and bought the business when she moved here in 2002. She has high hopes for franchising the Independent Paralegal model someday as she sees a growing need for a less expensive way to accomplish simple legal tasks.
The Renton Highlands office is staffed by appointment only, but Do it Yourself Documents also has two walk in locations located in Federal Way and Tacoma.
For easy access to legal forms and help filling them out, Filing Divorce, Bankruptcy or Probate or even something as handy as a mobile notary service – visit the Do it Yourself Documents Website

In the crowded world of carpet cleaning, Custom Solutions Carpet Care at the Lynnwood Creative Workspace Office Suites is a breed apart when it comes to professional grade carpet cleaning and maintenance. Whereas most carpet care companies attempt to convince you that a low cost, one size fits all approach is best, based on the cleaning method or equipment they have on hand, Custom Solutions offers wide a variety of options to clean carpets and upholstery, making sure the best solution is used for each situation.
It’s not uncommon for many companies to quote a low price to get in the door and then upcharge a customer for every spot or stain that needs attention. However, that kind of hit and run tactic, common as it is in the industry doesn’t make for a very satisfying experience.
Because Jon Brunsdon and his partner Dave Summers, have over 25 years of combined carpet and upholstery cleaning and water damage restoration experience, there isn’t much they haven’t encountered. They have the proper solution for any situation and they confidently quote their services and stick to the quote without any quibbling or upcharge surprises. That is why so much of their business is repeat and referral based.
Whether it’s in your Home or for your Business, you want a trusted professional with experience and integrity taking care to make sure your needs are met with the most effective and complete service possible.
Don’t get sucked into a bad situation with unreliable or inexperienced, dime a dozen, carpet cleaning services. Call Jon or Dave at Custom Solutions Carpet Care to experience the difference professional service can make.

John Crockett of Centaurus Financial shared these thoughts with me recently…
When presenting investment opportunities to people I meet, all too often I hear this common lament, “I don’t have any ‘Extra Money’ to invest.”
Guess What? Nobody has ‘Extra Money’ to invest.
Each of us is doing what we can with the money we have. Saving for college or retirement, investing in a business or spoiling our kids.
The challenge is seldom around finding ‘Extra Money’ to invest, more, it is about making a choice to take control and reallocate a portion of the money we already have invested to accomplish specific long term goals.
A lot of people have a retirement savings plan or investments of one sort or another, a 401K, SEP or IRA for instance. However, for reasons of convenience or convention many people leave the decision making for their investment portfolio in the hands of a Mutual Fund or Plan Administrator and just hope for the best. What most don’t realize is that they can choose to have a larger say in how that money is invested.
With the help of a Qualified Investment Advisor, it is possible to take a more active role in directing your retirement investments. Learning about and directing investments into higher returns and diversified holdings can dramatically impact your retirement outlook without having to find ‘Extra Money’ to invest.
John recently hosted an informative lunch and learn presentation here at Creative Workspace in Lynnwood. Those in attendance heard about some fascinating opportunities that exist as a direct result of the economy we are experiencing. Speakers included Joe Magana and Jim Hickey of Strategic Storage Trust who spoke on the consolidation of the mini storage business and the opportunities of participating in that trend through a REIT or Real Estate Investment Trust. Mark Englebrecht of Realty Capital Secuities, spoke about participation in controlled funds that are stepping into the void of development financing that has opened up as a result of banks pulling back on their lending. Both opportunities offered high yields, solid security and a good track record of success to back them up.
John will be hosting more of these presentations in the near future and would like to invite all of the Creative Workspace Tenants and their contacts to attend.
In the meantime, if you’d like to know more about influencing your investment portfolio, John would welcome the opportunity to help you find that ‘Extra Money’ to allow you to confidently take advantage of any opportunity that comes your way.
